I got myself a little treat...

...and that little treat really needs a name!!

Do you ever name inanimate objects? I know lots of people that have names for their cars, but I've yet to hear of a computer being named.

I recently purchased a Chromebook and I've only had it for a week few but I don't regret the purchase one bit. There were a lot of things I didn't realize about Chromebooks prior to purchase. I thought it was like an iPad where the only brand called is an Apple iPad. Not so. “Chrome” is the operating system and several different companies make the actual device.

I have a Microsoft laptop that’s about 15 years old with a battery that only lasts about an hour when unplugged and a VERY slow processor. I also have a Microsoft desktop. It has 2 monitors and is awesome for when I'm able to sit at my desk to use it but, I wanted to get something a little sleeker than my laptop but larger than a tablet for the in between times. (plus, I got a ThirtyOne bag designed for Chromebook or tablet and I didn’t have one to put in it)

I live on an island that requires a 20 minute ferry ride to get to and from it (this doesn't include the time spent waiting in the line up - insert mad emoji). With it being summer, my kids are home (I say that like this is a new thing, they've been home since April) and I wanted to have the flexibility of being able to do things with them during the day AND still get my work done. Even something as simple as being able to sit outdoors while they play or just to let my dog sun bathe.

In my role with Zeda, it's important that I'm able to easily share documents with the team and store them in an accessible place. We use Google Drive for all of our shared content and being able to access and edit the documents using the Chromebook is a huge game changer for me. As I write this, I'm actually in my car, waiting for the ferry to take my girls to go for a swim at their grandfather's house! Then, I'll work from the deck there while they swim.

While there is no “desktop” you can easily pin programs to the taskbar for easy accessibility. My taskbar includes: Google Chrome, Gmail, Google Documents, Zoom, Google Sheets, Toggl, Slack, and Trello. Those are my most frequently used apps and they are literally at my fingertips. The Chromebook that I got has a touch screen with the option to flip the keyboard over so the device can stand on its own.

So as I said at the beginning…. I need a name for my Chromebook! Comment any suggestions below :)

Review: The Acer Chromebook is versatile, sleek and easy to use. It is lightweight, durable and the processor is super quick!

Would I recommend it?
