Does anyone else ever feel the "pressure" of summer time?

When I was in my late teens & early 20's, I don't remember summer being anything but great. There was always lots of time spent with friends, at the lake, playing baseball and having campfires.

As a parent, I find myself feeling guilty that my kids are not in daily summer camps or having play dates with friends but rather, having to stay with babysitters during the day because we have to work. BUT - look at the flip side of that! They get to have a different adventure every day depending who is watching them. I am fortunate enough to have an abundance of options for available caregivers for my children and they enjoy their daily experiences very much! They get time spent with grandparents, aunts & uncles and cousins, LOTS of swimming and LOTS of amazing memories!

So, don't get me wrong, I KNOW that the kids always have an absolutely amazing summer but, the mom guilt hits hard when you are seeing day to day what other families are doing.

All that being said, if you have the opportunity this month to disconnect, really recharge and just spend some time acting like a kid with your kids, maybe the pressure with dissipate.

(This is of course, where I plug that fact that if you are needing the time off that we here at Zeda Virtual Assistants, can help keep your business going while you spend some much needed time RELAXING.)

The other thing I have learned is to stop comparing what we are doing day to day with others. Everyone has their own schedules and agendas and it is incredibly unproductive to constantly think about what they are all doing.

Just do what you can and enjoy every moment!

It will be Christmas time before you know it!

Does your family have summer traditions? Do you plan vacations over the summer?

What is your favourite summer memory from when you were a kid?
